For a variety of reasons both sort of global & personal (these are challenging, challenging times we are living in, hmmmm?), I felt a strong need to be inspired – empowered – this morning. Turns out I drafted a collection of rather inspiring quotations about power almost 2 years ago now, but forgot to ever add them in to the ‘Quotation Central!’ section of this blog. Sheesh!? (It really is a busy life. )
So, I amended the document, adding the ones I’ve collected since I first put ‘em together, & have just posted them here. Better late than never, eh??
If you need a little inspiration yourself, take a peek at them. It’s a pretty fine collection, if I do say so myself!!

‘Quotation for the day’ with this post: “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (tks to Stan for this one – it’s also here on the ‘Ordinary People Change the World’ Web site). (some more MLK quotes here)
Runners-up: “Be truthful, gentle and fearless.” – Gandhi
“If you think mitigated climate change is expensive, try unmitigated climate change.” ~ Dr. Richard Gammon, University of Washington, on the steps of the US Congress, June 28, 1999.
“I do not want to talk about what you understand about this world. I want to know what you will do about it. I do not want to know what you hope. I want to know what you will work for. I do not want your sympathy for the needs of humanity. I want your muscle.” ~ Robert Fulghum [italics mine]
