Syracuse Cultural Workers: what a gift!!

I wrote in '15 Things I’d Do (if I had a little more time)’ that I’ve wanted for years to create a button that says, “We are not meant to fit in; we’re meant to stand out.” (I believe Sarah Ban Breathnach said this in her book Simple Abundance).

& I mentioned the Syracuse Cultural Workers – a fabulous organization that sells buttons, bumper stickers, posters, T-shirts, cards, postcards, calendars & more.

The stuff this group sells is awesome!! I went to their Web site recently & ordered their latest catalogue & WOW – I only wish everyone in Canada (well, North America – and, hmmmm – why not everywhere??) knew about this organization & its fabulous, inspiring products.

There are books & posters & postcards that inform, encourage & inspire (e.g., a great one about global warming, awesome one about building global community, ones about alternative energy – & gobs of others about a variety of social justice issues); datebooks & calendars; coffee cups with cool messages; resources for children such as books & posters you can colour; a global vegetarian cookbook; Howard Zinn’s book A People’s History of American Empire (&, among many others, a button quoting Zinn: “There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.”)

I could go on here for ages, describing all their great stuff. There is a ton – a virtual cornucopia – of awesome, inspiring items you can order from this group.

I’m so glad I dug up that kooky ’15 Things’ item I wrote almost a year & a half ago now, & was once again reminded of the wonderful Syracuse Cultural Workers.

They are a blessing!!

Please visit their Web site, check out their stuff, order one of their catalogues, & then help spread the word about them!
