350.org

Yesterday I attended the Toronto Climate Campaign’s December 12th event, one of thousands held around the world to express strong hopes that the Copenhagen meetings will clinch a “real deal.”

A video about October 24th, a huge international day of action on climate change, was shown.

350.org is a very, very neat – and very powerful - movement.

What does 350 mean? “350 parts per million is what many scientists, climate experts, and progressive national governments are now saying is the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere.”

Check it out here

You can also watch a very inspiring YouTube about it here & I suggest that you do! (Scroll down on the right to find the one I'm referring to.)

We can all use a little inspiration…don’t you think??

Janet

P.S. The 350 phenomenon is very active in Canada!! We had tons of events on October 24th & plenty of “Vigils for a real deal” just yesterday. I’ve heard that Canada hosted more October 24th events than any country. Our federal government may be hanging out on the climate criminal end of the spectrum, but our citizens (especially our youth) are up for change, big-time!!

P.P.S. Check out Avaaz.org here for more on the “Vigils for a real deal.” Today tons of churches will be ringing their bells 350 times to express their support for 350!
