Playing Hooky

<Sept. 26/14.> Not hockey – hooky.

As in, I “should” be working this afternoon.

But it’s too goshdarn nice out!!

On this Friday afternoon

after a much-needed massage.

Busy-busy-busy times, of late.

& lots of work awaiting my attention

But … the heck with it!

We had a brutal winter

A lousy summer (see ‘Worst.Camping.Trip.Ever.’)

& we’re probably about to have another brutal winter [sure got that right!?]

& Obama is ramping up the possibility of nuclear war, no less

Climate change of course threatens ominously to wipe us ALL out

(between that & the nukes; take your pick! :) :(  )

I work hard.

Today I'm going to play hard.

What the heck.

We only live once!

(as far as we know.)

p.s. so, drafted this 4 months ago. Now into a very brutal winter cold spell here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. So glad I played hooky that day. Re-reading this, I can remember how utterly glorious that afternoon was. Zero regrets!! :)

‘Quote of the day’ with this post: “If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I awake in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world, and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.” – E.B. White
