Yesterday it was foggy as heck in Toronto.
Or, well, in the part of Toronto I live in, at any rate.
According to the weather report, there was in fact a “fog alert.”
But by the time I headed out for my walk, the fog alert had been lifted.
Only problem is, no one told the fog! It was still foggy as heck – the whole long time I was out for my walk.
The weather (& the reporting of same) is very (very) wonky indeed these daze.
I think a lot of HBs (human beans) are kinda living in a fog too.
We think we’re mighty smart (or maybe we don’t even think we’re mighty smart, we’re just living mighty awfully far up our own behinds … &/or too deep inside those addictive devices we can’t yank our heads out of)
How thoroughly we have been (& still are) being duped.
Duped ‘R We!
Toys ‘R Us?
Duped ‘R We.
p.s. I’ve heard people say most of us would rather be wrong than admit we’ve been fooled. We don’t like to admit we’ve been duped.
“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark
Elizabeth Cady Stanton said “Truth is the only safe ground to stand on.”
** more great quotations about truth (& a few about lies, too...)
So many lies we are all drowning in!?!?!?!? Eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk.
